Last night when I met up with Gond and Tas'sadar for a chat and drink, we had one simple conclusion in mind.
Dungeons & Dragons isn't just about dungeon crawling and slaying dragons; it's also about the social gatherings and the opportunity to meet new people. So, let's push gaming to another level higher this time.
We thought of having a session at a chalet after the session on the 9th May. Not to worry, the chalet is at the Aloha Loyang Civil Service bungalows so it is spacious and I will do a booking.
The rough itinery is checking in at 3pm and we will have a BBQ session for dinner; D&D gaming along with other boardgames available. In short, it's going to be a super chill-out session. It will be an all-nighter again!
At the moment, I am looking at the core 6 players to come along for the session. However, this would be a good time to introduce any friends to the game of D&D too.
We will discuss more in detail at the following session on the 9th.

Travellers entering Singapore with a travel history to Mexico over the past seven days will be issued a home quarantine order (HQO) which will require them to be quarantined for seven days when they enter Singapore. Travellers who are unable to be quarantined at their own residential homes, or are without a residential home in Singapore, will be quarantined in alternative housing such as government chalets, i.e., the Aloha Chalets located at Loyang. The HQO will come into effect from Monday (0001 hours from 4 May 09), so as to give those affected more time to react and prepare for the impact of the HQO. In the interim, we will conduct phone notification and surveillance for those who have arrived from Mexico in the past seven days. So far, two Singaporeans who have returned from Mexico are on voluntary phone surveillance and they are well as of date. Should evidence arise that other countries besides Mexico are exporting cases, MOH will also consider imposing similar conditions for travellers from those areas
erm... still going ?

I personally love the one at Aloha Loyang because of the size and parking space. But seriously, I am fine with any other chalets as long as its not that typical small confined one-room piece of shit. We need a big space for our gaming.

hey! good idea... but nobody discussed this idea on the 9th session? guess we'll have to find a chalet NOT used for quarantine then... think i may have some friends who may like the game... haha no offence but it looks like a DnD evangelisation session!! spread the game in a social setting... but i still think it's a cool idea Main problem, tho, is probably a lot of pple wouldn't have the patience to sit thru this kind of game. but i guess the right pple probably would. hope there's some follow up on this...

mark>> you are the classic kind of newcomer that all seasoned players would love. That kind of enthusiasm sure does bring more fire to the passion that's already in us. As long as you have friends who are interested, I am very well sure the rest of us will try to make the chalet event as imteresting as possible for your friends.
I agree with you that in this advanced age of technology, why play with pen and dice when you have solid graphics? But you see, D&D is more than just pen and dice and what nots. It's about a social gathering and a session where friends get together to craft a fantasy story. I believe if your friends are fantasy-inclined and into boardgames, they would see the magic of D&D.
When the chalet details are worked into, we will defnitely draft up a timetable of events that can cater to the newcomers who want to experience D&D. And of course, there would be more than one DM by then.

We definitely need DMs, coz if there are new comers and it's overwhelming, we may need 1 or 2 more DMs. In any case, I believe Tas'sadar, Gond and Mobius; all of them can DM... But I believe at most, we just need one more DM, and we run two separate campaigns.
