It's definitely on!
Although I am not too sure about it being an all-nighter. Probably we will meet about 5pm; coz I want the players to redraft their characters since the ability points and all that is calculated wrongly; and also the powers to be recorded in the card sheets for easy referencing. We need about an hour to clarify certain basic rules and explanations. Then probably we have dinner; and then the session begins. So, I am game for an all-nighter. But, I don't know about the rest. In any case, I will prepare enough material to last us through the night. It would be good for players to bring their supplements and etc along. However, the goliath will have to wait for one encounter before joining in the campaign proper. I will bring along the Dark Sun and Ravenloft 2nd Ed campaign materials to introduce the players; and get their feelings about the 2 classic campaigns.
So, the ideal timetable line-up would be
5pm - Party assembles at gaming venue; introduction of new player to the rest of the party 5.30pm to 7pm - Redrafting of character sheets and rule clarifications; reminiscing old 2nd Ed products. 7pm to 8 pm - Dinner 8.30 pm .... It's time to get in the action

mage is busy with work I guess. But he is aware of the 10th; no worries. As you know... Raistlin and Raistlin-like have a common trait... they tend to stay away from the main group. Ironically, to me it seems the ranger is missing instead.

If we are looking at an all-nighter... we can end 'early' enough for you to take the first public transport back. Don't worry about the transport factor yah.

Will send a mass SMS to everyone closer to the 10th on the venue and timing to meet once again. Not to worry. Those who intend to roll up new characters classes from PHB II and etc are welcome to do so. Since it will be an all-nighter; maybe we can have a game of monopoly in between? Wahahahaha

Bring your favourite dice too... and rough paper if necessary. You may not need to invest in extra supplements. But do at least try to possess the Player's Handbook. That is the most important and basic tool you would need. The Forgotten Realms Player's Guide is a bonus. Since it contains new race and class rules; and information on the world of Toril. It's rather 'useful' in a sense when you want to draft up your character's history; where he comes from and etc. But like I said, its not necessary.
Simply put. The Player's Handbook is like the basic guitar. The basic guitar is enough for you to play melodies. But if you want the distortions and sound effects, you need gadgets and other equipment [thats when the additional D&D supplements come into play].

Heck! We can even throw in charades, lotto and scrabble if you want to.

That's interesting... I am more interested in the supplements. There isn't a problem with dice since the rogue has got her own.

Btw... would you guys go for call-in dinner or head out to a nearby mall for dinner? East Point is about 10-15 mins walk away. Either way works fine for me.

I vote if everyone's characters are good to go - head to nearby mall. otherwise we can eat in. Getting character sheets up can be tedious.

Honestly, I think we won't spend too much time going through character sheets this friday. So I'll vote to visit the mall!
oh, and Wei De's prolly rolling up a drow sorc. Anyone able to share the PHB II online for him?

I see... as expected; players would want a change of characters. Somehow or another, I have a funny feeling we would take some time checking through the character sheets and finalizing bits and pieces. Unless every player has done their homework. It's precisely doing up character sheets that may be tedious thats why I think a walk to the nearby mall may ease the brain cells and allow PCs to be rejuvenated before the game commences.
