Progress:
Our heroes find themselves leaving the Altarak valley after their unpleasant encounter with the elven raiders. They led the caravan towards their water point at Grik's Pool. As they approach, the elven leader was enraged by the sight of people diving into the precious water resource and bathing in it. The party successfully calmed him down and headed for the pool to investigate why the disrespect to such important water resource.
The caravan leader stopped midway and dismounted from his mount in a bid to reduce his hostility and decided to lead the caravan around the pool instead. This meant they had to forage and obtain water from other sources now.
The Scoia'tael realised that 7 of their survival days had been damaged in the previous fight with the elven raiders and decided to forage instead to minimise their dependance on survival days.
They then moved along the trade road, a ridge formed between the Southern Ledopolus and the Valley of Altarak where Grik's Pool resided in the middle.
The detour slowed the party as they intended to make use of the established trade road to quickly reach Ledo. This forced them to break camp in the middle of the trade road. a highly unwise thing to do.
They are not along in the setting up of a camp. House Wavir has setup a watchpoint along the trade road to hunt down certain members of House Tomblador. Their neverending feud and clash of opinions has been the neighbourhood story in Balic and only frequent visitors to Balic knows abut the feud.
House Tomblador indluges in slave trading and 'creates' slaves as well as abuses them with disregard to their life. House Wavir has suspected them of indulging in Arcane Defiling as well. This soon proved to be too right.
In the middle of the night, the Scoia'tael was attacked by some members of House Tomblador which were apparently heading for the Mul encampment of the House Wavir's. This small detachment tore down a portion of the Scoia'tael's encampment and proceeded to kill the party. In the fight, a arcane defiler was called into battle and the elven leader was mortally injured and was dealt a blow by the defiler that would paralyse him for the rest of his life.
The party immediately reacted to this threat with wit and cunning. Keira made use of her teammates to conceal her tracks eventually building up enough momentum and speed to grab at the staff of the defiler. noticing this moment of surprise, Evelynn ran in and sought to destroy the talisman that the defiler was wearing, assuming that it was the source of his power.
Sadly this plan, did not foresee that the talisman had a protective aura around it which repelled the bearer of all who sought to remove the talisman from the bearer. Keira and Evelynn were repelled away.
Keira held onto the staff as she was repelled away and managed to forcefully remove it from the Defiler.
The rest of the party quickly moved in to land arrows and struck the defiler with spears.
They hurt the defiler enough before he managed to grab the staff back from Keira. Evelynn in the ready took the chance to mortally wound the Defiler. However it was insufficient to kill him, and he casted a curse mark and shot a lightning serpent towards Evelynn binding a serpent coil around Evelynn's neck.
Keira then finished off the Defiler. The Defiler imploded into the talisman he wore. The talisman sucked all thsoe who bore the "T" mark of the House Tomblador and imploded upon itself leaving no trace of having been around. The rest of the people from House Tomblador is nowhere to be seen at the Mul encampment of House Wavir.
Keira and Roland went to investigate the encampment noticing only the remains of a great defiling attack. The Mul leader of the unit, Akatosh survived the fight along with his adjutant. However he lost one arm and his adjutant lost both his arms. Both mortally wounded, had no choice but to succumb to the devils of the desert.
Keira and Roland saved them however his adjutant rolled down the dune and was nowhere to be seen.
The elven leader of the caravan, having been plunged with a blade thru his back by his own blade at the hands of the defiler was doomed to paralysis for the rest of his life. At the careful tending of the Ardent Dragonborn, Korron Fel, the leader of the caravan lives but will have to accept his fate a worthless person in House Vordon.
Seeing that the party needs a new navigator, Roland steps up and becomes the new navigator for the caravan.
The now head for South Ledopolus of Ledo.
