Summary:
Tomas leaves the dungeon in the night, and comes back the next morning with both good news and bad news for the party. Rather, the good news was for him that he has been pardoned and reunited to his spouse, but the bad news is that a few days back our heroes's names have made it to the Royal Bounty List, each head worth 1000 tricrowns.
Tomas informs our heroes that King Foril is willing to grant them the Corymrian Royal Clemency, if the party is willing to undertake a task - retrieve the information from the contact that Tomas has established in Saerb, Sembia. He tells the party to look for Lord Prio, Knight Exalted, Regent of Special Affairs for more information. Unlike Exoured, King Foril offers the party this choice. If they do not wish to do so, King Foril has no qualms as well. He will not personally pursue the matter, but he cannot speak for Ezoured his brother, nor his nephew Prince Ondeth.
The party seeks out Lord Prio, deciding that to do this task is better than to have a hundred bounty hunters on their tail. Lord Prio briefs the party to travel to Saerb and look for Inius Olger, a cobbler. They are to travel with a merchant named Hoth as a cover story, and grants the heroes provisions for their journey.
The heroes head over to where Hoth is, at the Society of Stalward Adventurers. Hoth the merchant, after negotiations, gladly pays the heroes the meagre sum of 400gp to escort him to Sembia.
Along the way, the party was ambushed by a group of pompous bandits known as the Trinity Thorns. Arrogant as they are, the bandits herald their arrival, before almost decimating the party. The party successfully fights them off, as the bandits ran away helter-skelter into the darkness of the night.
Our heroes reach the gates of Sembia, and was waiting for Inius Olger, the cobbler with the information they need to bring back to Lord Prio, when Inius was approached by a group of netherese guards. Sensing trouble, the battlemind confronted them, leading to a fight, which the party won without breaking a sweat. However, the guards have sounded the alarm, and it is only a matter of time before the netherese guards swarm into the area.
The party enters Inius's shop, asking for the information. Inius challenges them with the password, "The cleansing flame thrives during even the coldest night"....
DM Note: One emphasis about my plots is the continuity factor. Take notes of passwords, signals and other RPing elements. You never know when they might be useful again.
It doesn't mean that if Lord Prio doesn't tell you, means its not in use. Afterall, this is the password used among agents of the Special Affairs to identify each other.
