Summary:
The party fights their way through the compound of the Crimson Wolves. The bandits in the camp were clearly not a threat to our heroes. After finishing off the bandits, Lady Cora appears leading a group of purple-clad prisoners who quickly arm themselves – it’s the other knight’s retinue! They inform the PCs that Tomas Mallor and Sir Oris is in the other cabin, pointing the way for them.
Lady Cora, after a long hesitation, tells the party to go after Mallor, while she and the other prisoners hold of the rest of the Crimson Wolves.
The PCs enter the cabin, and right in front of them is Sir Oris! He stands over the unconcious body of a hawkish man in wizard’s robes, probably Tomas Mallor.
Sir Oris taunts the party, saying that Ezoured shouldn't have let the bunch of low-life criminals come along to dispatch Tomas as insurance.
The PCs get into a fight with Sir Oris, but had a difficult time dealing with the Crimson Wolves elite, now paid off by Sir Oris. The hobgoblins, standing side by side in formation, proved to be efficient in deflecting and blocking the swings and strokes of our heroes' blades. Nevertheless, our heroes' fight valiantly, and slowly but surely cut down the hobgoblins. With a final blow, Sorvvan slid his dagger deep into a vital spot of Sir Oris through a chink in the armor; a fatal blow.
The PCs, having defeated the traitorous knight, searches the room as Pavvo, Merdan and Farier walked over to Tomas. Pavvo attempts first aid to Tomas, when the dwarf realized that due to his lack of knowledge in human anatomy he bandaged the wrong arm.
Seizing the moment, the dragon-born seeing that Tomas hasn't awoken tried to loot the man's body.
At the moment, Lady Cora bursts into the room, and looking at the direction of the slumped body of Tomas Mallor, cries out "my husband!" to the surprise of the party.
She rushes over, and seeing the dragon-born's hands in the pockets of Tomas, knocks Merdan out. She scowls at the rest of the party.
Pavvo, together with the genasi wizard, Farier, with great luck managed to convince Lady Cora that Sir Oris was the man who did this to her.
The battlemind, in a desperate attempt, tried again to wake Tomas.
Still in a daze, Merdan speaks the password, to which the dragon-born received a reply in groans and moans.
Tomas asks Lady Cora to leave the room, as he attempts to convince the party to work for King Foril after knowing that they have been blackmailed to work for Ezoured. Impatient, the dragon-born attempted to smite the wizard to remove the geas, but was intercepted by both the battlemind and, surprisingly, the gnoll!
Tomas performed a ritual to suppress the geas that Ezoured has on the party, as the whole group made their way back to Suzail.
Along the way, Tomas tells the party of his story: that he was an agent of the True Crown, a department under the Special Affairs. He infiltrated Sembia with the objective of gathering vital information. Before he could get an important piece of information from an agent in Sembia, he was exposed. With no where to go as he couldn't return to Cormyr, he formed the Crimson Wolves with the intention of disrupting the trade routes of Sembia.
King Foril, in an attempt to bring Tomas back after pleas from Lady Cora, gave her an errantry to bring him back. However, as errantries go, it is public for all knights, and Sir Oris caught wind of it.
Back in Suzail, as part of the cover-up, our heroes and Tomas are put in an all too familiar place, the dungeons of Suzail.
