It was fun playing Fie (Elvinor d'Phiarlan). Seeing him die valiantly was rather depressing, although it was good to see Fie kill Merrix outright! That arrogant lord should have met death sooner. It was equally cool to role-play Fie as a self-centred arrogant rogue always in constant argument with Zither, that double-sided alliance with Ardun... treating Gungrave almost non-existential and looking down on the dwarf - Grimli.
It was really fun getting Fie to assume the image of Zither and heading down to the ball! And it was all humorous when Zither starting attacking Fie when Fie returned to the tavern in the guise of Zither himself. Running up the top of the stairs only to be pulled over by the bard!
But it was heartwarming seeing Fie slowly forming an alliance with the party close to his death; albeit with much care and distrust still evident. I guess the most cinematic scene for me was seeing Fie rushing out into the open to kill Merrix in a coup de grace... and instantaneously yelling back at the party that their usefulness is no longer valid in a bid to ensure that the party is not dragged into the mire.
Although Fie is a ranged character and something I wasn't too comfortable with since I've been used to the style of 'L' - the elven ranger... I've grown to love Fie as a role-playing PC.
Well, his death is inevitable and he won't be resurrected.
Fie will be reincarnated as a Deva Avenger to seek vengeance against House Cannith - for his death... and also against House Phiarlan.
