Guys, the proposed date for the next DMC session on 26th Dec cannot be implemented as I have some family functions.
As such, I am proposing the game be conducted on 2nd January 2011 - Sunday.
Any objections?

I am ok with the date.
On another thought, shall we have regular dates? i have asked möbius and he says he's ok with us planning ahead and him taking leave for it.

So as discussed we will be having our sessions for January on the following dates: 2nd Jan (Alvin cannot) 15th Jan 29th Jan
Edmund will be taking leave on those days to accommodate for us and as a show of devotion to Mystra, so once we have confirmed we should not fly aeroplane to shoot her down unless totally necessary.

Bad news guys, I can't have a full-length game on the 15th as I have a dinner to attend at 6.30. As much as I'd want to, I'm not entitled to utilize any leave for it.

Ok guys, we have to once again amend the dates. The proposed dates on the 2nd, 15th and 29th of Jan all have to be replaced.
2nd - myself, Alvin and Eugene cannot make it. 15th - Marcus has to leave early. 29th - I cannot confirm as I forgot that I might be having a band performance that day.
Therefore, these are the dates I am proposing in January 2011.
8th Jan (Sat), 15th Jan (Sat) - bearing in mind that Tas'sadar will have to leave early, 22nd Jan (Sat) and 30th Jan (Sun) - all sessions will commence at 2pm and will last up til dinner time or over.
This time round, if I have a minimum cap of 4 players, the session will carry on regardless of who is absent.
Please mark your attendance and let me know by this weekend via this thread. Thanks!

Ok so we just need to wait for Marcus and Alvin's reply. Once their replies are set, I'll log in the dates, and those who have confirmed their attendance.
So, the dates are now down to 8th, 15th and 22nd. 30th is out since both Mobius and Gond will be out of the party.

Oright, I'm good with the 8th, 15th (leaving early) and 22nd.
SC: sorry for the wet blanket, since we're having our games this frequent, I'll prolly have to pull my interest out of the CoC games.

Alright, D&D DMC dates will be on 8th, 15th, and 22nd Jan - since we will have at least four players in all 3 sessions.
Seng Choon - 7th Jan for CoC seems fine for me if its in the evening. 2nd Jan is out - which was why I cancelled the DMC session.

Seng Choon - however, my cousin will be visiting Singapore during the period, so I may have to bail out if there are plans on the 7th with her. If not, I will be game for CoC.

7th doesn't look like a possibility, 8th we have FR, 9th I'm running more D&D lol. Let's discuss further on 8th, quite gian to run CoC for you guys.

Awesome, I was thinking we should actually run 2 games on a day. A whole day for a FR campaign or Eberron or any other campaign may be draggy. It can wear off because we don't have a conducive environment of our own, and attention may be diverted to other forms of distractions - like the iPhone or laptop (and I admit I am one of them).
I propose that we can run a DMC / Eberron campaign and make it strictly at most 2 milestones worth of gameplay. That means that averages about 4 encounters (be it skill or combat).
Then we can break off for dinner and then after dinner we can carry on with the alternate game campaign. Since we have CoC, we can run it after dinner. You may be interested to test drive it this coming 8th~
Due to our working schedule and time constraints, we don't have the luxury of having constant gaming in a castle with long tables. So, I think we would all want to have a variety of gameplay and the best games are aways kept to a limited time of gameplay to preserve the element and the zeal for another game session in future.
With such a system, DMC would be able to try out different kinds of games after the main D&D session. Be it boardgames, cardgames, and other RPG systems.
What do you guys think?

wah. such a change of attitude, especially towards boardgaming.
agree with the sentiment that running long campaigns can be quite draggy, but the basis why is because we dont have the luxury of time and our FR campaigns are under the endangered species list: our games are not held very often.
but moving forward, if we are able to run FR at least thrice a month, this arrangement is fine with me. We can alternate with as what you mentioned.
I am cool.

I strongly believe if we plan our schedules one month beforehand, we'd be able to run a healthy cycle of FR campaigns on a weekly basis... (4 times a month, if not, at least 3).
It's not a change of attitude towards boardgames. My no.1 is still Dungeons & Dragons. But, I realise that long-term campaigns should be held regularly, but for short sessions, like 4-5 hours. This helps to ensure attentiveness and a sense of looking-forward to the next session to uncover what may happen. And I think this would apply to any genre of gaming.
I am looking forward to alt gaming campaigns. Since Eberron is a D&D system, we alternate FR and Eberron as the main campaign sessions. But the secondary gaming on the same day, I am looking forward to alt game systems like Edmund's campaign, and CoC.
With that said! we can implement this dual gaming system this coming Saturday! Or we can discuss more in detail.

Eh wait does this mean you want to play CoC this Saturday? Ahaha I guess that is possible if you guys wanna I can go prepare like now.. Will be running a sample adventure from the back of the core rule book, but will definitely need modifications..
I'm happy to go back to Eberron anytime as well. Many enemies waiting for you ahaha.
